Passionate or secretive ?

Today I had a coffee with some former clients and we had an interesting discussion, that left me a bit irritated, something that doesn't appear very often in my life now...So I thought I would post a few comments about it here...

In life you have people who have a religion, and believe strongly in it. You also have people without a religion (I am not even Christian even if born in a Christian country) but that lives with spiritual values and have usually had some mystical experiences that build their knowledge of how the universe work. They are called mystics or gnostics...I am one of those. It is always difficult for me to interact with people who strongly "believe" in any particular religion, or at least were formatted in a certain way (in this case jewish religion)...I always try to open their mind and try to convince them that instead of believing they should experiment and build their own knowledge so that they can move from "spiritual child" to "spiritual teenager" :)

Those people usually can't understand how somebody can be passionate and talk openly about spiritual concepts as they were mentally formatted to expect spirituality to be secretive and without any passion (and even to be painful :) )...They even think that people who lives passionately and happily interact with the universe are either immature or totally crazy...

In my world, I have always being attracted to passionate spiritual teacher vs secretive/constipated teachers :)

So today I had a chat with the other side of the world, and she made me feel as if I shouldn't talk about spirituality openly and wait until I am old (after 50 she said) before I can share my interesting discoveries with the world. Age doesn't count, Intensity does.

The fact that the other camp is dominant in today's society won't make me change and adopt their values.
